Podcast: Pilot episode “Soaring”
Swimming star opens up about mental health challenges ahead of Toyko 2020.
This pilot episode of “Soaring” was prepared just before the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics were cancelled in 2020 because of COVID-19. The pandemic disrupted the lives of many and even affected the production of the series.
In this episode, we see the power of sport, and hear about the mental health challenges and bullying faced by Canadian swimming sensation Aurélie Rivard. Aurélie and her twin sister sat down with Teddy Katz in early 2020. She was one of the Canadian Paralympic Committee’s star athletes at the Rio 2016 Paralympics. But as Teddy tells us in this episode, Aurélie had a childhood she wasn’t comfortable talking about until now.
Podcast: SHADsSpeak
This was produced for SHAD, one of Canada’s top enrichment programs for high achieving high school students which empowers these young leaders to become change makers. Our goal through this podcast, SHADsSpeak, was to raise awareness about the program which had been one of Canada’s best kept secrets by highlighting some of the impressive SHAD Fellows or Alumni.
This episode focused on some of the challenges for Women in STEM and was released on International Women’s Day.
